About Me

Hello! Welcome to ever butter baking!

In case you are wondering about the name, here's the story behind it.

First, my mother trained my tastebuds well with her buttercream frosting. I now despise the taste of shortening and ALWAYS use butter in my baking, especially frostings. I do have a love for coconut oil, and use it in quite a few recipes, but "ever coconut oil" doesn't have the same ring to it. The second part of this is the play on University of Rochester's (which is where I originally went to college) motto, Meliora, which means Ever Better.

Now, about me:

I'm Emily and I'm a junior at Cornell University double majoring in Psychology and Music with a minor in Cognitive Science. I mainly conduct music cognition research, but I also sing in the Cornell University Chorus, play piccolo in the Big Red Marching Band, play flute in the Chamber Flute Ensemble, and am a member of various honors organizations like Psi Chi and Golden Key.

Cornell is a wonderful place, but it can get quite stressful at times. So hence, I stress bake. A lot. This is good news for my friends who are stressed and like stress eating. I also procrasti-bake a good amount, and this all has led me to be the Resident Mom Friend.

So thank you for finding my blog, and enjoy the recipes and reviews!
